Crosswalk is our high school ministry, consisting of 9th through 12th grade students from all around the Lansing area. We gather each Sunday night from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the Student Center.

Small Groups are the engines that keep Student Ministries going. They are so much more than a half hour of hang out time at the end of each meeting. In a ministry the size of Trinity’s, the staff can’t always personally connect with every student. That’s where the Small Group leader comes in. They connect with each of the students in their group. They are the ones texting on a Monday or Tuesday afternoon to see how the test went that a student was nervous about. They are the ones a student can call when they have been hurt by a friend’s actions and they don’t know who else to talk to.
In small group time at Impact each week, students and leaders talk about what God is teaching them, whether it’s about the message they heard that night or something God is doing in their life at home or school. Under the discipleship of the small group leader, students learn how to encourage each other and keep each other accountable.
Crosswalk Small Group Leaders
Get to know Alex
Hello! My name is Alex Blank. I am very excited for the continued opportunity to serve at Crosswalk and see how God impacts the lives of students! This will be my second year as a Crosswalk small group leader. My wife, Gabriela, is a Crosswalk leader as well. I am a lawyer at a local law practice in East Lansing. Outside of work, I enjoy watching Kansas basketball (and MSU sports), fishing, and being outside with my dogs, Wyatt and Mantequilla.
Get to know Dan
Hey, everyone! My name’s Dan. I’m super excited to be a small group leader again this year! I attended Crosswalk when I was in high school, and I’m glad that I can be a part of your own Crosswalk experience. I really enjoy reading, writing, and playing video games, and I’m pretty much addicted to coffee. I’ve studied the lives and works of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, so you could probably call me a fantasy nerd. I’m a die-hard Michigan fan, so you’ll never see me rooting for MSU (sorry, guys). I’ve got a lovely wife and daughter whom I love very much! I hope you can feel at home at Crosswalk; it’s a loving place where everyone is welcome no matter what!
Get to know Kate
Originally from warm and sunny Los Angeles, CA, I now suffer through Michigan winters. Though I do dream of moving back to sunny SoCal, I love Michigan for its sublime summers and the crisp-air autumns. My husband Greg and I have been married for 13 years and write and play music together in a vocal duo called The Asking. You can check us out at www.theaskingband.com. When not working on my music I work with our main service vocalists at Trinity, running vocal rehearsals and recording parts. I am so honored and blessed to get to work with our amazing students at Crosswalk and the stellar Student Ministries team.
Get to know Tracee
Get to know Ashtin
HELLO! My name’s Ashtin Laurion and I’m a leader at Crosswalk this year. I currently go to LCC, and I’m focusing on getting my generals all done to transfer in the future. I love talking to people and working out as much as I can! What prompted me to become a leader at Crosswalk was the impact it had on me when I was in high school.
Get to know Erin
Hello! My name is Erin Duguid (pronounced “do-good”), previously Erin Briggs. I got married in May 2018 to Cody, and we have a 6-month-old chocolate lab named Ronnie. She’s a sweetheart. I am also a full-time nursing student at Davenport in Lansing. I am looking forward to watching the girls in my small group grow in their faith throughout the 2018-2019 school year!
Get to know Katie
What’s up? My name is Katie. I love leading and teaching students about authentic worship and growing in all aspects of their relationships with the Lord. Serving students is really investing in the future and I feel so blessed that God chose me to play a part on Trinity’s Student Ministry team. I work at Delphi Glass and The Diaz School of Piano. In my free time I am typically with family, worshipping with my roomie and friends, at a coffee shop near you, or, let’s be honest… shopping! I’m pumped to see what God has in store for our ministry this year.
Get to know Ben
Hi, my name is Ben Szilagyi. I am super passionate about God, guitar, and school. The reason I decided to be a leader at Crosswalk is because I genuinely love pouring into those younger than me and serving them the way leaders have for me.
Get to know Gabriela
Hello, my name is Gabriela Blank. This is my third year as a Crosswalk leader. I’m excited that God has continued to have me serve in this ministry and I am looking forward to watching the students grow this year.
Get to know Lisa
Hey folks, it’s Lisa—your friendly neighborhood starving-artist here. When I’m not confined to my drawing desk cranking out comics, you can find me falling off my longboard like a total doofus at Hawk Island Park. I watch a ton of movies (I’m the reason Family Video is still in business) and don’t read nearly enough books. Although I am an art school degenerate (Savannah College of Art and Design, 2014) I am a passionate Christ follower. Student ministry made an immense impact in my own life and I’m happy to return the favor.
Get to know Cody
Hey all, I’m Cody! This is my first year leading a small group at Crosswalk. I love to see people grow in their relationship with God. For fun, I play tennis, watch hockey, and have great conversations. I’m excited to serve the students at Crosswalk.
Get to know Jacob
Hey guys, what’s up? Jacob Morris here. I am a Mechanical Engineer at the cyclotron (FRIB) at MSU. This is my second year serving as a small group leader at Crosswalk and I am looking forward to another great year.
Get to know Noami
Hello everyone! My name is Naomi. I am a leader for Crosswalk and during the week I work in Okemos at the Michigan Health and Hospital Association. I have aspirations to either grow in the company doing research or return to school to get my master’s in Human Resources. A few things I love are quality time with friends and family, being outdoors, coffee shops, and sports. I love to be doing something and get bored easily if I have nothing to do. I have a passion for the Lord and a passion to serve. I started to fully understand what it meant to have a personal walk with the Lord in high school and that changed my life forever. I want to show the love of Christ to students and show them what it means to have a personal walk with the Lord. I hope that who I am in Christ will allow me to relate to the young women in my group, making deep connections and encouraging them in all they are in Christ.
