Sunday Opportunities
General
- Campus Safety Team: Be part of a team that seeks to relationally promote the safety of our guests and support the mission of Trinity Church.
- Front Desk Host: Greet guests, provide assistance and answer questions in the main office on a Sunday morning.
- On-Call Medical Response Team: If you are a trained medical professional or have medical experience, you are invited to join our on-call medical response team for Sunday Gatherings and other events.
Gather
- Camera Operator for Sunday Gatherings: Run mounted cameras or a shoulder camera following the worship team and speakers on stage.
- Computer Graphics for Sunday Gatherings: Responsible for displaying and advancing lyrics and message graphics and slides.
- Lights Programmer for Sunday Gatherings: Program and run the lighting board.
- Producer for Sunday Gatherings: Manage entire weekend team as well as service transitions and any unexpected problems day-of.
- Sound Technician for Sunday Gatherings: Run the soundboard controlling the audio output both
in-room as well as to the livestream. - Video Director for Sunday Gatherings: Control in-room and livestream outputs, manage and direct camera volunteers to get the desired shots.
- Vocalist and/or Instrumentalist: For those with hearts for worship and who are skilled vocally and/or instrumentally, please prayerfully consider pursuing an interview and audition with our Worship Arts Team.
- Weekend Gathering Team Meal Provider: Each weekend, the worship and tech teams spend a significant amount of their days rehearsing for the Weekend Gatherings, and they take time to share a meal together before the Sunday Gathering begins.
Hospitality
- Auditorium Host for Sunday Gatherings: Greet attenders at the doors to the auditorium, helping them to their seats and handing out materials if needed.
- Coffee Team for Sunday Gatherings: Create a warm and welcoming environment by taking care of preparation, restocking, or cleanup of atrium refreshment and beverage stations.
- Collection Team for Sunday Gatherings: 15-minute assist with passing giving bags for the offering.
- Communion Prep/Clean-up for Sunday Gatherings: Help prepare communion trays before the gathering or collect, clean and put trays away after the gatherings the first Sunday of the month.
- Greeter for Sunday Gatherings: Greet attenders at the various building entrances prior to and at the beginning of each Gathering.
- Resource Center: Assist patrons in selecting resources to fit their needs utilizing the bookstore and/or the library on Sunday mornings.
- Welcome Host for Sunday Gatherings: Welcome attenders at our main entrances and hand out bulletins. Provide welcome packets to new guests and introduce them to familiar faces.
NextGen
- Children’s Welcome Team: Greet new families and help them register at Weekend Gatherings.
- Driver for MSU Students: Drive MSU students to Trinity Church for the 11:00am Sunday Gathering and occasional Abide gatherings located on Trinity’s campus.
- Elementary Relational Leaders for Sunday Gatherings: Help, love and shepherd a small group of children (ages 5-12) during a Weekend Gathering. All materials are prepared and provided for you. High needs: 9:15am 2rd Grade, 3rd/4th Grade Boys and The Loop. 11:00am 3rd/4th Grade Boys and Girls
- Little Pieces Club Assistants: Come alongside children from divorced homes. Be able to commit to most of the 13-week sessions on Sundays at 9:15am.
- Nursery and Preschool Caregivers for Sunday Gatherings: Care for and play with our babies and toddlers, and help preschoolers learn about Jesus. High Need at 11:00am in the infant/toddler room.
- Small Group Leader Childcare: Help in providing infant/childcare for our Small Group Leaders of Student Ministry. Many of our group leaders are beginning their families and have young ones who could use childcare assistance on Sunday nights!
- Small Group Leaders and Substitutes for Middle/High School Students: Lead discussion on Sunday evenings, and build relationships with the students throughout the week, fostering an environment of community, family, and encouragement.
- Student Ministry Check-in Assistant: Be the first friendly face students see at the check-in station for Crosswalk and Impact.
- Student Ministry Hospitality Team: Help prepare, serve, and clean up the meals and snacks we serve weekly and/or on special occasions.
- Student Ministry Security Team: Help in cultivating a safe environment for our students by being extra eyes and ears for the Sunday night gatherings.
- Student Ministry Tech Team: Collaborate with the team leader and NextGen Worship Team in organizing and running the tech needs for our worship sets, games, and speaking team on Sunday evenings.
- Technical Support for Children’s Ministry: Provide technical support for preschool and elementary large group teaching environments.
- Worship Team for Middle/High School: Collaborate with and build relationships with the student worship team by offering your vocal or instrumental gifts on Sunday evenings.
Monthly/Quarterly Opportunities
Care and Connection
- Car Repair Team: Supervise or assist in repairing cars. Everyone is welcome whether you have basic car repair skills or just desire to learn.
- Care Meal Team: Prepare and deliver a meal to individuals or families with a new baby, health concerns or bereavement.
- Fellowship Team for Car Ministry: Meet with car ministry clients to interact and pray with them while their vehicles are being repaired.
- Food Preparation Team for Car Ministry: Prepare meals for those who are serving and those being served during Car Ministry events.
- Funeral/Memorial Team: Support families during a difficult time. This team will help with setup, hosting, and cleanup of these events.
- Widows’ Plus Events Team: The Widows Plus Ministry hosts luncheons throughout the year to serve them and provide an opportunity for them to connect. Volunteers are needed to help with setup, food preparation, hosting, and cleanup.
General
- Administrative Help: Be available to help with administrative tasks such as organizing, mail preparation, bulletin stuffing, etc.
- Photography Team: Take photos of Sunday Gatherings and special events that will be used to display throughout the building and on social media.
Go
- Mission Possible Disciple-Making Journey: Discover what it means to be on mission, and be equipped to become a missionary right where you are. We invite you to join us on a journey of discovery and discipleship with a piece of this journey including either a local or global mission adventure.
Hospitality
- Refreshment Team: Bake or prepare snacks and refreshments for Grow or Staff events.
During the Week Opportunities
Care and Connection
- Budget Counseling: Teach and mentor Deacon clients in the practical and biblical principles of managing personal finances.
- Care Guide Team: Become a trained volunteer who is available for those in need of someone to walk alongside them during a hard season of life.
- Celebrate Recovery Dinner Team: Help prepare, cook, serve and clean up dinner on Thursdays.
- Celebrate Recovery Drivers: Provide transportation for Celebrate Recovery participants to and from our Thursday evening meeting. Use your own vehicle or the Trinity van if approved as a qualified driver.
- Celebration Place/Childcare Leaders: Lead children from birth-5th grade through playtime and structured learning time on Thursday evenings. Training is provided.
- Deacons: Deacons are appointed by Trinity’s Council of Elders to serve the local church by helping those in need in overcoming spiritual, physical, emotional, and financial challenges. The Deacons accomplish this by utilizing Trinity ministries, social resources, and the Deacons Assistance Fund. Both men and women can serve as Deacons.
- Deacon Ministry Assistants work alongside the Deacons by assisting in identifying and meeting the needs of Deacon clients, administering the Deacon Food Pantry, and maintaining administrative records.
- The Landing Leaders: Lead students through the Celebrate Recovery materials that were written specifically for teens. Training is provided. Male leaders are especially needed.
- Marriage Enrichment Community Team: Lead or assist a marriage group and/or help plan social and serving events for this community.
- Prayer Team: Pray for individuals after Sunday Gatherings, at Prayer and Worship Nights, and throughout the week for submitted requests.
- Thrive Childcare: Care for children of moms attending Thrive, 2x month during the school year.
Go
- Gardner International Magnet School: Serve at Gardner in various one-time or ongoing opportunities.
- Treasured Sisters: Encourage and minister to trafficked and/or exploited women.
- Trinity Jail Ministry: Encourage and minister to the men and women at the Ingham County Jail. Both male and female volunteers are needed.
General
- Counting Team: Assist with counting and entering the weekly offering.
- Interior Campus Team: If you like to work with your hands and be indoors, you can help with cleaning, event set-ups, and general maintenance.
- Special Events Team: Help set-up and/or food prep for special events.
NextGen
- GO>Connect Leader: Provide overall leadership, vision and strategy for the Go>Connect community. Coaching from current leader is available.
- GO>Connect Event Planner: Coordinate fun activities, meals and outings for our community about six times per year.
- GO>Connect Administrator: Create and keep an updated database of names and information of students. Other administrative tasks like email communication could be needed.
- Hospitality Team for College Ministry: Help provide snacks for Abide small groups and occasionally help prepare meals for special celebrations.
- International Friendship Program at MSU: Coming this fall, sign up to include an international student in fun things your family does like celebrating holidays, birthdays or family outings. This opportunity is open to families and individuals, and training will be provided.
- Lead Volunteers for College Ministry: Help organize and lead Abide fellowship gatherings.
- Mentors for College Ministry: Talk life, give godly counsel and provide encouragement to college-age individuals by walking alongside them in their pursuit of God.
- TEDCenter Drop-off Time: Volunteers to welcome children and parents in the morning.
- TEDCenter Reading Time: Volunteers to read to children throughout the day.
- TEDCenter Room Assistants: Volunteers to help throughout the day in the classrooms.
- TEDCenter Break time helpers: Volunteer comes in during nap time hours to assist the needs in the classroom with a teacher so the teachers can rotate taking lunch breaks, 12:30-2:30.
Seasonally/One-Time Opportunities
- Christ in Our Communities: Begin your own relationship or project, leading a team to Go into the local or global community with the love of Christ for people or a cause you are passionate about.
- Gardner International Magnet School: Serve at Gardner in various one-time or ongoing opportunities.
- Community Garden Team: Plant a plot in Trinity’s Community Garden and tend it throughout the growing season.
- Disc Golf Maintenance Team: The disc golf course offers many opportunities for you to serve like walking the course to ensure it is trash-free and spreading wood chips along the paths and around the baskets.
- Grounds Beauty Team: If you love to plant and tend flower gardens, this serving opportunity is for you. Our various areas around the grounds will need to be planted and then tended throughout the growing season.
- Grounds Team: If you like to work with your hands and be outdoors, you can help trim trees and shrubs, edge sidewalks, and manage weeds around the property.
- Interior Campus Team: If you like to work with your hands and be indoors, you can help with cleaning, event set-ups, and general maintenance.
- Mowing Team: We supply the equipment; you supply the time. If you want to mow the front, the side or all of it, just let us know and off you go.
As Needed
- Handyman for the Marigold House: Looking for a handyman to help with maintaince at our College-Age Ministry house on campus.
- Rides for Sunday Gathering or Events: Be on a list of people who could provide rides to and from church for widows and/or Deacon clients.
- Human Resources Team: As needed, people to inform and assist with higher level Human Resource questions. Must have a Bachelors or Masters in Human Resources. In the know of changes in codes, laws, standards, Trinity is in compliance with NLRB.
Event Specific
Good Friday Experience: A multi-sensory experience of the crucifixion, focused on Jesus’ last seven statements. This 1-hour, self-guided audio journey to the cross is open on Thursday and Friday, April 17 & 18 from 11:00am-6:00pm. There are several opportunities to serve with the Good Friday Experience:

- Set-up Team: The set-up will take place Monday-Wednesday, April 14-16.
- Hosts: Welcome people as they arrive for the Good Friday Experience. Help them with their audio devices and beginning their experience.
- Station Monitors: Oversee several stations — refilling supplies and reseting the stations when needed.
VBS and The Blast!: There are a variety of ways for adults and older students to join the fun of VBS! Volunteer as a room or relational leader, bring out your creativity as a craft helper, or run around with the kids as a recreation leader or helper. Provide snacks and kitchen support. Help with students in The Blast! or rock babies in the nursery.
